A treadmill’s deck is the backbone of the machine. When a deck is damaged (indentations in the deck’s surface shown by red arrows) the equipment quickly fails. Within one week of installation, these surface imperfections completely destroyed the running belt, and the customer immediately noticed that even light walking felt strange (the belt was slipping constantly).
The manufacturer supplied a new deck, MCB, and running belt under warranty. Repaired, calibrated, and thoroughly tested – a complete recovery – at no cost to the customer.
While machines may at times arrive in an unusable state from the manufacturer, it’s important to note the effect a damaged deck has on the entire unit. Preventative maintenance saves treadmills!
