Spin Bike Broken Belt

That ticking sound may be trying to tell you something.

When evaluating any piece of equipment, we listen, feel, look, and sometimes even smell for problems (hopefully, we don’t have to use our sense of taste to locate any issues).

The strange noise your spin bike is making could indicate a broken belt. Is your elliptical stuck on its highest resistance setting? This may be caused by a broken cable, control board, console, motor, or brake assembly. The black dust that has been collecting behind your treadmill signals a failed roller. Odd scent coming from your treadmill’s motor compartment? It might be foreshadowing drive motor or MCB failure, or maybe it just needs immediate cleaning.
